Statement by Public Advocate de Blasio on FBI Investigation at P.S. 243

“A suspected child molester working in our schools is a parent's worst nightmare. Like every New Yorker, I am horrified by this news and want to lend my support to the entire P.S. 243 community at this very difficult time. Our city's schools must be safe and secure for students, parents, and teachers—anything short of this is simply unacceptable. I applaud Federal Law Enforcement officials for cracking this case, and encourage the Department of Education to remain in close contact with the school community as this troubling situation continues to unfold.”
