Public Advocate Gotbaum Statement on Today's Crane Collapse
Public Advocate Gotbaum said, "My heart goes out to the victims of this terrible accident and their families. This catastrophe is only the latest in a string of construction-related accidents and it is a devastating wake-up call – we need to do more. With so much construction happening at so many sites around the city, the Department of Buildings has to be incredibly vigilant with inspections and oversight to ensure these kinds tragedies are not repeated."
