The NYC Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Alcoholism Services funds hundreds of programs in all five boroughs geared specifically for the needs of the mentally ill, the developmentally disabled and people with alcohol problems.

For specific information on developmental disabilities, talk to a borough consultant at the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Alcoholism Services, who can refer you to programs close to home.
