Crisis Relief from Family Pressures

Good parenting is hard work. Sometimes even the best parents feel overwhelmed. If you are stressed out and fear that you might hurt your child, get help.

New York Foundling Hospital Parent Help Line
Sometimes even the best parents feel overwhelmed. If you are stressed out and fear that you might hurt your child, the Parent Help Line offers crisis counseling and makes referrals. The hospital also runs a Crisis Nursery. Your kids can stay there for three days -- for free -- if you need a break. Childern whose parent(s) is in the hospital can stay longer. The Crisis Nursery accepts children under 7 years of age and their siblings up to age 11, although they can't take kids who are currently asthmatic or who have other specialized medical needs. (In other words, they do not take any children older than 11, and they will only take 7-11 year-olds with siblings 7 or younger.)
