HMO Complaints

New York State Insurance Department,
Consumer Services Bureau

Got a gripe about your HMO? Have you been denied medical care or services you need? Complain to the HMO first. They each have their own grievance process. If you don't get satisfaction, call the NYS Department of Insurance's Consumer Services Bureau. This agency regulates HMOs and mediates complaints.

Consumer Services Bureau,
Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm
25 Beaver Street
New York, NY 10004
(212) 480-6400 or (800) 342-3736
