Independent Living Centers
Independent Living Centers are designed to help disabled New Yorkers function more independently. The services that are available include: referrals, peer counseling, training, adaptive equipment, advocacy, and community education.

NYCHA's Health Priority Unit
People with disabilities who want to apply for public housing should call the New York City Housing Authority and ask for a Health Priority Letter to attach to their application. NYCHA will assign a higher priority to placing the disabled.
